Frequently Asked Questions

How do I care for my cheese?

Our artisan farmhouse cheeses are handmade and so each production will differ and change throughout it’s life. Our cheeses are all hand-wrapped in wax paper allowing the best possible environment for it to be stored correctly, maintaining a balance of humidity and allowing it to properly breathe. Cheese should be kept in the refrigerator to slow the growth of natural moulds. When these moulds do occur the cut sides of the cheese should be removed. It is recommended that cheese be stored in wax paper inside a box within your fridge. Do keep in mind that the smaller the piece the quicker it will dry out in your fridge.

How long will my cheese last?

We recommend a use of common sense rather than strict rules to follow as there are many variables that can play a factor. Having said that, we recommend soft cheeses (such as Brie de Meaux) be eaten within 7 days of purchase, while hard cheeses (such as gruyere and Cheddars) be eaten within 14 days of purchase. Individually wrapped cheeses (such as Camembert) that are sold as a unit will always have a “best before” date attached.

How long will my charcuterie last?

If we have sliced your saucisson, salami or any other cured meats we advise them being consumed within 3 days of purchase. Larger weights, (over 100g) that aren't sliced should be consumed within 7 days of purchase.
